MS Powerpoint 2003 and its https problem

MS Powerpoint 2003 (SP1) has a bug in it having to do with https links. If you try using a link like this you get "A security Problem has occured " error and does not display the page in the browser(IE)". To fix the bug MS says to wait for SP2 or to call them for a hot fix. You can read the information here.

It is kiind of silly that MS has had problems relating to this type of issue for
versions 2000 - 2003. Now I have to call them for a fix or wait until the
next SP update? I dont think so. VBA to the rescue!

The code below I placed in the vba section of the powerpoint file. To call the code I highlighted the item (word, sentence or picture),right clicked and selected "Action Settings". This brings up a window where you can select the macro you wish to run from the "Run Macro" drop down list when your hightlighted item is clicked. In my case this drop down list showed "Link1" and "Link2" for the macros below.

Would'nt it be wonderful if you could rely on MS upgrades to run flawlessly? Ya, I know... if frogs could fly they would'nt bump their ass.

I recently installed the SP2 upgrade on 3 computers only to have one installation burp out the wonderful "Access is Denied" error. Thanks to a Google search and B-Rock's blog site I was able to correct the problem fast and quickly using his fix.
Be sure to change the following line:
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=systems=f
To:
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=system=f
